Things were not so rosy when Jide Kosoko started his acting career.The veteran actor revealed to
Ikorodudailynews recently that he was even beaten by his mum after she watched his first performance.Things are much better now He may be well known as an actor, but when Jide Kosoko was starting out in the entertainment industry, his parents were totally against his career choice.
Speaking in a recent interview with
Charlian Tv, Kosoko said both his father and mother did not approve his foray into the entertainment industry as a child and his mother flogged him after watching his first performance.
“Back then, no parent wanted their child to come into this (entertainment industry). Especially my father who will tell me, “Jide you are a royal Prince of Lagos, you should not be entertaining people, in fact, people should be entertaining you. On the day of my first performance, I saw people gathered as I was coming down from the bus. I was surprised that people were hailing me because they had seen me live on television.
I was feeling myself not knowing that my mother had laid an ambush for me. I got the best beating of my life that day,” he told
Charlian Television. We are sure his parents are proud of him now.
