Ikorodudailynews gathered an incident that occurred at Oriwu Road,Ota ona,Ikorodu ,Lagos. A young guy who goes by the name Imole Olatunde oshin burnt himself to death on Monday night 23rd october, 2017. On trying to interview his friend and neighbors on how it happened and what exactly happened, they said Imole is an orphan but has an elder sister from the same parent and others are his step brother and sisters. Imole lives at Ota Ona in his family house, he inherited two rooms, and he lives in one with his wife and daughter and rented the other room. He was also given a borehole where he could pump water and sell to people. Sources had it that one of his step brothers fought him because of the borehole. They said Imole used to be a very troublesome person but when he impregnated a girl and had his first child, he became quite, calm and patient. His friends said they have been suspecting him for the past three weeks where all of a sudden he will just switch from saying what is right to saying rubbish. They said quite some number of times he will just stop people around and delay them with some senseless talks. His friends said they assumed the Indian hemp he smokes was having a bad effect on him as he seems to be losing his senses gradually. Some minutes he is fine and another minute he is mentally ill. So it was no longer a new thing to them as they have known him to be like that for some couple of days.

Ikorodudailynews that he was in his room one night and when the wife got in with their child, she saw a bottle and cutlass on the bed they both sleep on and she became scared and ran to call her mum to come see what she has seen. When her mum, arrived at their house, she saw it and forcefully took her daughter and her grandchild with her to prevent the boy from hurting them. After then he started staying alone though there were neighbors around. Few days before his demise, he was seen washing outside the house and all of a sudden he was drinking the soapy water he used in washing his clothes, people came to his rescue and he later regained his senses, it looked like he was okay not until on Monday 23rd October, 2017 about few minutes to 8:00pm, his told
Ikorodudailynews that he came to buy two hypo at a friend’s store, there was no balance to give him so he left with the money with the thought of paying later.
No sooner than that, he came back to buy one more, the friend was wondering what he wanted to do with the hypo but he still sold it to him – that makes it 3 hypos. No longer than that, someone came to report that his mouth smelled of hypo, so they gave him palm oil to detoxify the substance in the hypo. Few minutes after then, still on the same day, he came to beg for money to buy fuel in his generator so that he could pump water to sell, the people he went to said they didn’t have money. He took his phone to his friend so that he could pay him any amount that could buy fuel; the guy said he doesn’t have money. He kept on searching for money that night. It was few minutes to 10:00pm that he went to the woman and explained that he needed to buy fuel in the generator to pump water so that he can sell the next morning to treat himself of the hypo he drank earlier. Out of pity, the old woman gave him #1000 and asked him to buy fuel of #500 and return #500 balance to her.
He did as the old woman has said, he then went to the staircase of the house and bath himself with the fuel with his clothes on, he lit up himself , his body got ignited, he later regained his memory and ran downstairs to the road and shouted for help while his body was seriously burning. Before they could reach his family, people and friends around called for an ambulance and he was taken to the general hospital on ebute road from there he was referred to General Hospital in Gbagada, few minutes after he was announced dead.
Sources claimed that it was a spiritual attack and he was murdered by members of his family because of property while few people said he died as a result of the Indian hemp he smokes.
