They have decided to appoint the current Atletico Madrid coach Ernesto Valverde as their new manager by the time Luis Enrique leaves at the end of the season, according to SK.

The A. Madrid coach is to start duty at the club by June and will be expected to sign a 3-year-contract at the club. He will also have to decide on the transfers in the summer.

Ernesto Valvarde, 53, was once a player with Barcelona, under the legendary Johan Cruyff, and spend two years at the Camp Nou where he won the European Cup Winners' Cup and the Copa del Rey.
